FAQ - Key activation

Internet connection is required to activate a ZSoil Floating License. Please check your connection before following the procedure below.

1. Run the ZSoil Protection Manager (Search for ZSoil Protection Manager 2024 or it can be found under Program Files\ZSoil\Tools v2024\ZPrtMngr)
2. Choose Floating/Node-locked Protection type
3. Enter Activation code
4. Press the button “Get protection key for the specified activation code”

5. You will be redirected to https://zsoil.com/get-protection-key/ . Please fill in your User name and Email address and then press “Get Protection key” button

6. Your Protection key will be sent to specified email address

7. Enter Protection key and press the button “Activate license with the specified activation code and protection key by direct connection to protection server”

8. Wait for a confirmation about successful activation

9. Close ZSoil Protection Manager with OK button

If you are having trouble activating a license, it may be because your antivirus/firewall settings are blocking the connection to the ZSoil Protection Server. HTTP protocol is used during activation, therefore port 80 should be opened for zsoil.com (IP 193.33.128.219)

6. You will be redirected to https://zsoil.com/get-protection-key/ . Please fill in your User name and Email address and then press “Get Protection key” button.

7. Your Protection key will be sent to the specified email address which must be from the domain of the site license.

8. Enter Protection key and press the button “By direct connection to protection server”.

9. Wait for confirmation that the activation was successful.

10. Close ZSoil Protection Manager with the OK button

If you are having trouble activating a license, it may be because your antivirus/firewall settings are blocking the connection to the ZSoil Protection Server. First try the following points :

• HTTP protocol is used during activation, therefore port 80 should be opened for zsoil.com (IP 193.33.128.219).
• Try bypassing the firewall by using the second activation button “Through zsoil.com website”

This procedure allows the user to “borrow” a license for a period of up to three months. This can be useful for working offline or if your internet connection is unstable. It does mean that one license is taken from the server, so for a site license with 10 workplaces, it will mean only 9 will remain available on the server for other users during this period. Used licenses for your site license may be controlled by clicking on the button “Show used licenses for Site License”.

2. Choose date within the next three months and press the button “Borrow license from protection server”

3. Wait for confirmation

4. Close the ZSoil Protection Manager with the OK button

If you are having trouble activating a license, it may be because your antivirus/firewall settings are blocking the connection to the ZSoil Protection Server.

First try the following points :

• Make sure that you are connected to the internet.
• HTTP protocol is used during activation, therefore port 80 should be opened for zsoil.com (IP 193.33.128.219).
• For Site license users, try bypassing the firewall by using the second activation button “Activate license with the specified activation code and protection key through zsoil.com website”. This option will “borrow” one license from the server until the date specified. Therefore, one less license will be available for other users on this site license.

2. Choose Floating/Node-locked Protection type
3. Enter Activation code
4. Press the button “Get protection key for the specified activation code”

6. On https://zace.com/get-protection-key/ Web page fill contact form and press “Get Protection key” button

7. Protection key will be sent to specified email address

8. Enter Protection key and press the button “Activate license with the specified activation code and protection key”

9. Wait for a confirmation about successful activation

10. Close ZSoil Protection Manager with OK button

Internet connection is required to activate ZSoil Floating License

1. Run the ZSoil Protection Manager (Start\All Programs\ZSoil 2020\Tools\ ZSoil Protection Manager)
2. Choose Floating/Node-locked Protection type
3. Enter Activation code
4. Activate Site license check-box and enter License ID
5. Press the button “Get protection key for the specified activation code”

6. On https://zace.com/get-protection-key/ Web page fill contact form and press “Get Protection key” button

7. Protection key will be sent to specified email address

8. Enter Protection key and press the button “Activate license with the specified activation code and protection key”

9. Wait for a confirmation about successful activation

10. Close ZSoil Protection Manager with OK button

    HASP HL key

• Download and install drivers for HASP HL protection key from zsoil.com/downloads/HASPUserSetup.exe .
• Run the ZSoil Protection Manager (Search for ZSoil Protection Manager 2023 or it can be found under Program Files\ZSoil\Tools v2023\ZPrtMngr)
• Choose the Hardware (HASP key is required) protection type
• Enter the password provided by GeoDev Sàrl/ZSoil and press Activate HASP key

• Close ZSoil Protection Manager with OK button

HASP HL Net key

• Download from zsoil.com/downloads/HASPUserSetup.exe and install drivers for HASP HL protection key.

Please note that HASP network dongle uses TCP/UDP port 1947 for local (LAN only) communication.This port must not be blocked in order for a station to access the network license.

• Run the ZSoil Protection Manager (Search for ZSoil Protection Manager 2023 or it can be found under Program Files\ZSoil\Tools v2023\ZPrtMngr)
• Choose the Hardware (HASP key is required) protection type and check  Network flag
• Enter password provided by GeoDev Sàrl/ZSoil and press “Activate HASP key“
• Close ZSoil Protection Manager with OK button

• Status of the HASP key is monitored by the Sentinel Admin Control Center which can be accessed by entering http://localhost:1947 in a web browser.

• Run the ZSoil Protection Manager (Search for ZSoil Protection Manager 2023 or it can be found under Program Files\ZSoil\Tools v2023\ZPrtMngr)
• Press “Update HASP key” button

• Open *.hsp file provided by GeoDev Sàrl/ZSoil. In case of more than one HASP dongle please see How to identify HASP Key ID.

Status of the HASP key is monitored by Sentinel Admin Control Center.
Run http://localhost:1947 in a web browser in order to display current status of the HASP key.

ZSoil uses first 8 digits of key ID indicated in the Sentinel Admin Control Center and displays in format 1234-5678.
