ZSoil 2020 Release Notes

Updated March 21, 2021.

This document provides the general summary of new features and important notes about the ZSoil® v2020 software product.

What’s New in ZSoil® 2020 v20.07

  • Analysis:
    – Resolved issue with eigenmodes modified by mesh tying and nodal linking
    – Resolved issue with direct contact parameters in large deformations
    – Resolved issue with detection of kinematic loading
    – Improvements for names of directories created when driver makes restart backups
    – Resolved issue with stress level for steel in fire analysis
    – Resolved issue with degradation of steel E modulus in fire analysis for shell fibers
    – Resolved issue with automating changing of nonlinear solver, which comes back to the initial NL solver

    – Automatic/Interactive Parameter Selection:
    a. improved estimation of E_50 and E_ur for fine and coarse soils (see the log of CORRELATION DATABASE)
    b. revised automatic selection for void ratio, dry unit weight and friction angle for coarse soils
    – Lab Test Simulator:
    a. new Loading Program Manager to design most common triaxial loading programs to examine constitutive models w/o real test data:
    i. strain or stress-controlled test
    ii. monotonic w/ or w/o unloading cycles
    iii. cyclic loading with one- or two-way amplitudes
    b. new Brick formulation for small strain stiffness extension in the Hardening Soil model
