40 years of ZSoil & Structures
Numerics in Geotechnics and Structures 2025
The 2025 meeting brought together ZSoil users, engineers and researchers on
29 August 2025 at HEIA in Fribourg, Switzerland,
celebrating 40 years of ZSoil & Structures.
This year’s presentations cover a broad range of practical and research applications,
including tunnel modelling, jointed rock masses, deep excavations near railways and
metro tunnels, geothermal heat exchangers and historic masonry structures.
Modelling topics include spatial geotechnical data, energy dissipation in dynamic
analyses, the AHS-Brick constitutive model, surrogate models for rare events and
probabilistic design, alongside updates on ZSoil’s developments.
